What Is Spray Foam (SPF)?
SPF (spray polyurethane foam) is a two-component liquid system spray-applied directly to the roof substrate. The mixture expands 20-30 times its liquid volume, creating a seamless, closed-cell foam layer that provides both waterproofing and thermal insulation simultaneously.
After curing, the foam is coated with a protective elastomeric coating — typically silicone or acrylic — that shields the foam from UV radiation. This coating is reapplied every 10-15 years, extending the system life indefinitely without removing the original foam.
